Quentin King
is Stone on the fictional
Grosse Pointe

Kohl Sudduth plays Quentin King, the follically challenged bad boy of Grosse Pointe. He shares his feelings about pigs, punk music and playing an oblivious jerk.

The WB: What is your favorite thing about your character?
Kohl: I get to play a guy who thinks he's real cool even though sometimes he's just not. He's kind of a jerk but he doesn't mean to be like that, he's just sort of oblivious.

The WB: Are you anything like Quentin or Stone?
Kohl: Parts of me are. It's kind of like I'm a mixing board in a music studio. I bring up those parts of myself that help the character. Those parts of me that are self involved and think they're really cool, I try to bring those parts up higher in the mix.

The WB: Is life on the set of the real Grosse Pointe anything like the behind the scenes chaos of the fake Grosse Pointe?
Kohl: We're a really supportive group of people, we're really pretty cool to each other. There haven't been any major blow-ups other than the normal growing pains for any show. We're all just getting to know each other and in the process you learn everybody's boundaries. It's like a family. As far as back stabbing and fighting and talking smack, it hasn't happened yet and I have a feeling that if it did no one would stand for it, we'd look out for each other. I trust these guys.

The WB: How do you really feel about the pet pig?
Kohl: The pig. I have to say, he is really cute. His name is Moonbeam, I haven't seen him for a while, he's probably really big right now. He's really sweet, he really took to me. I found a spot under his chin that he loves to have scratched. I had never been around pigs before other than full grown hogs on farms, they're really lovable and sweet and smart.

The WB: You're an actor and a musician, which one is your real passion?
Kohl: That's a tough question. I'm actually not sure because my passion for acting grows as I get older, but my passion for music has always been there. I started playing clarinet in elementary school, when I got a little older I wanted to be tougher so I started playing the tenor sax. When I was in college I was in a punk band and I was really passionate about that. I could get it all out on stage, it served as an emotional release. My passion for acting just grows and grows. It's a job that grows when you grow, you become a better actor when you become more self aware and more aware of other people. It's really about your ability to listen and react to other people. I'm really falling in love with it. If you ask me right now I'll say acting. I will be an actor for the rest of my life.

The WB: You've worked with some pretty impressive actors, who surprised you the most?
Kohl: I really try not to anticipate things about other actors, I try to just take what they give me. If I had to pick someone, I would have to pick Heather Graham. Heather Graham was really, really, really nice. Its not that I thought she wouldn't be nice but she was a major star at the time and she went out of her way to be nice and really cool. It's not a total surprise because I thought she'd be nice but she's so much nicer than I imagined.

The WB: How does your family feel about your career choice?
Kohl: I think they faced it with a certain amount of trepidation in the beginning because your parents want you to be safe and secure and acting is anything but that. I think I was just really lucky. I mean I was good but you don't get anywhere in this business with out a certain amount of luck. I worked with some really good people and they helped me a lot. My parents saw me start to make a living at it, and when they saw that I could keep my feet on the ground they were okay. I think they understand that it's a job just like every other job. There always a mystery about being an actor, but when they saw that I was pretty much the same guy, just more confident and world-wise, they thought that maybe I had a good job. They've always been really supportive. My dad even gave me money for acting classes when I was broke in New York.

The WB: What do you hope to accomplish in your lifetime?
Kohl: I hate to sound cheesy but I want to do my mom proud, I want to do right by my roots. I just want to try to make the world a little more beautiful. I see all these ugly things happen in the world and I know they're always going to happen, but I think that if there are enough of us we might be able to make the world a little nicer. I would love to just make people laugh my whole life.
